In a remarkable display of commitment and collaboration, the Public Health Team at PANSUI recently joined forces with the Student Union and The Compassionate Pharmacy Practice Project to host the highly successful Biggest Student-Led Health Fair. Building on this momentum, the team embarked on a transformative secondary school outreach event on Thursday, March 21, 2023.

At Holy Trinity Grammar School, under the leadership of Mary Funmilayo Oni and with the generous sponsorship of SAFEMA (Stand Against Female Marginalisation and Abuse), the team delivered a powerful educational session to senior students, encompassing crucial topics such as gender stereotypes, personal hygiene, female genital mutilation, and cervical cancer awareness. To further enrich the students’ knowledge, valuable resources on cervical cancer, breast cancer, and prostate cancer were distributed, marking yet another impactful endeavour by the team this semester.

Beyond these vital outreach efforts, the team is actively spearheading the #revampfirstaidbox project, a visionary initiative aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of PANSites by providing functional first aid kits. Those wishing to contribute to this noble cause can do so by directing donations to the following account: 6485574091, under the name of Public Health Team, PANS UI, via Moniepoint.

Looking ahead, the team is poised to welcome new members, with membership forms set for release immediately following the conclusion of the second-semester exams. PANSUI students are encouraged to stay vigilant for this opportunity to join hands in shaping a healthier future.

The Public Health Team’s unwavering dedication to championing health and wellness, demonstrated through initiatives such as the recent school outreach and the ongoing #revampfirstaidbox project, serves as a beacon of inspiration for the entire PANSUI community. Let us support the team and together, pave the way for a brighter, healthier tomorrow.
